Ok, inpucked up some wal mart, super cheap auxiliary lights to have on my bull bar until I get some KCs and I'm about ready to pull my hair out with getting them hooked up.

The lights have a hot and ground wire coming out the back, I ran the grounds to the bumper brackets coming off the frame. The hots I connected with a butt connector and used a scotch lock to run to a rocker switch in the cab. From the rocker switch I ran a ground and hot to the battery.

I'm using a 25 amp fuse inline from the battery to the switch. When I have a fuse in the LED in the switch lights up but no power goes to the lights. And when I turn it off the fuse will randomly blow.

I've used 2 different switches thinking that maybe I got a bum one. But no luck. Any suggestions other than throw the lights away and call it a learning experience? I know the lights work, I tested them with the battery before wiring. I'm soooooo annoyed.

the wire may be too small, causing the fuse to go,

Are your wires pinched anywhere? You could have a short. I was getting some weird reactions with my flashers and I found out the wire had been pinched to the body. Could be something like that.

I ended up ripping out all my wiring and starting over and they work now! Really bright too... didnt expect this much out of a $20 pair of lights

I had a similar probblem and found that I grounded the wrong wires on the ones coming from the lights themselves. Sounds simple but I do stupid things sometimes. Can I get an "AMEN"?
