i have the stock 235/75/15 on my X right now. they are only 3 months old. i found a used tire lot that has a set of 31x10.5 BFG All Terrain TA KO's with 60-75% tread. i'm at stock height right now. 92 XLT 4x4. they will take my tires in as trade, mount and balance the BFG's, everything out the door for $75. should i do that or not. i want to get the bigger tires without losing too much money on the tires that i bought recently. this doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. am i wrong?

i plan on doing the TT/shackle lift this month. that's about a 1-2" lift, right? should i go with a larger tire setup? this is a city X that i use for deliveries. i plan on 4wheeling only a couple times a year. can i fit a spare in it's current location? what are the pros and cons of doing this lift?

please give me your honest opinions.....thanks guys for all your help. this forum ROCKS!!! :D

Cant do a TT on a 92. Go for it, they should fit with no rubbing. you can't put a 31" tire where the spare tire mount goes.

what do people with a 92 do for a lift? i assume that they still use the shackles...right? what do they do for the front?

and where did you get your clear corners from? :p

f-150 coil spacers
You may end up having camber issues though. You MAY have to get a camber adjusting KIt. Sometimes an alignment will fix it. You are suposed to get one anyhow after you have the spacers installed. There are a lot of kits out there for the 1 generation X. Sometimes its just better to get a cheap 2" body lift. Do a search on the board and see what somes up with 2" lift

thanks bro for your help. are you sitting at stock height? i really like how everything looks on your X.

Thanks, yeah im stock height.

Im pretty sure everything i said was correct, if not im sure someone else will respond!

where did you get your clear corners from and how much did you pay for them?

You can get the clear corners on ebay usually through procarparts.com i got mine for $38. Superlift makes a good 5.5" lift for 90-94 explorers I put one on mine it puts the rear axel under the leafs with new bracket and has radius arm and other lowering brackets for the front with coils and pitman arm. I took it to a shop to have the camber reset and have had no problems yet.

do the f150 coil spacers come in different heights?
do the warrior shackles come in different heights?
