I have the chrome cobra R's on my truck but if i was to do it again- i would go with the steeda 5 stars- no one has them and they are not as rice looking as the ROH- IMO
BUT.......
if you have a 93 sport 4x4 as it says in your sig. then none of them will fit. your hub has to stick through the center of the rim and these rims centers are too small.
I tried to put my cobra R's on my 92 4x4 ranger to see how they would look and it didnt work (92 ranger and 93 explorer are the same) and a friend of mine wanted the cobra r's for his 96 ranger and they didnt work. the only thing you could do would have the centers machined out and then you are really going to weaken the rim.
my truck is AWD- thats why they fit. you have to go with a rim designed for 4x4
good luck
This was originally posted by Mudd***** in the thread: How much will a set of Cobra-R's hold?
I have and do use 4x4 with the cobra R wheels. Also, I paid about $170 a piece from Tommie Vaughn Ford here in Houston.
yes- but what year is his?
I am trying to think if my moms 4x4 96 has stick through hubs or not-
I know the 91-94 do- just like my ranger.... but i want to say that the 95+ dont. cause mine and my fathers are both AWD and there are no hubs...
The Enkei's are nice but I think the Cobra-R's would look nicer.
Also, has anyone done the interactive thing where you can test out how the rims would look on your car before you buy them? I was looking through and I really don't think half of those rims are available for 4wd Suv's. Does anyone know other wise?
I just visited discounttiredicrect.com and found a rim specifically made for the 1993 explorer 4x4. Its made by MIM and its called Rimini i think. Its a sharp looking rim and is available in 18" . Here check it out. Just click on wheel and follow the steps. Oh yeah make sure ya click on 18". Dead Link Removed
