Hi! Had a problem on my 99' Ranger (V6 4.0 OHV) and burned both cylinder heads.

I live outside the States, and imported parts are extremely expensive here...

So started looking for the parts to import them by myself (that is 50% cheaper  ) and found many shops that sell fully repaired ones.

Quotes go from $250 up to $600 (core is not included). The most expensive, is from a Ford dealer who claims that are "Motorcraft guaranteed repaired" (sounds strange... doesn't it? ).

Since sometimes "cheaper gets more expensive in the long run", perhaps you can tell me a middle-price good-quality shop.

Here, are some of the ones I've requested quote from:

Also, it might be helpful any information (good or bad) from the ones on the list.

Please, help me... I miss my truck... :(
Thanks in advance! ;)

Heads

Try Bill's Cylinder Head in Phoenix, AZ The phone number is 602-278-6636. They were referred to me by Rick H. and Mark S.. I paid $199.00 for the pair plus $300.00 core charge. The address is 1620 S. 27th Avenue Phoenix, AZ 85009-6421. I don't think they have a web site. Can't vouch for them yet as I am right in the middle of swapping the heads today!

Have not heard if you got the heads or not. Let us know... I'm gonna be in the market for cylinder heads soon... I think.

I did get the heads. I am not sure about the quality yet as I just found the time to install them. Still need to complete intake installation. The company tried to charge me for both cores saying that they were both cracked, but when I asked for both back, they called back saying that only one was cracked and were going to refund 1 core charge. Although the "damaged" head does not show a visible crack, it is possible as the valve suffered some pretty severe damage. Hard to know if they just made an honest mistake with the other head or?? Can't recommend them fully because of this.
