I need to get my TP sensor off, but the darn screws won't come loose. ANy suggestions short of cutting them? I couldn;t find any replacements from ford dealer or fordpartsnetwork.

When I replaced my TB with the BBK one, The screws were a pain to take out. I found that a cordless drill worked. I had to play with the brake settings, 2 find the right setting that would allow me to get them loose, without striping them. I also had the TB off the truck, so I could put it on a bench, & get a good hold of it.

I had this same issue- they AREN"T Phillips head screws -they are called POSI-DRIVE and you can get them thru better tool dealers like SnapOn, Mac, etc

Make sure you mark the position of the TPS as well before you remove it. You can replace the screws with regular ones or better yet allen head screws after its off.

good luck

Ok, thanks guys. I need to know what type of screw it'll take. The ones that are in there are in there for good now unless I go at it with the saw or some other destructive tool. Ford couldn't tell me what the screws were. I will try my local hardware store, but don't know exactly what I;m looking for. oh well.

I also had to remove the TPS when I got my BBK TB. I used a drill bit slightly larger than the size of the screw shaft to drill the heads off. Then the TPS slid off. I then used pliers to get the now threaded studs out of the TB.
