I have a 99 EB that I want to change the sub in the back to a MTX thunderform and also replace the amp with a Concept amp.. I have no idea how to do this.. So if anyone has done this before please give me detailed info on how to preform this install.. I espcally need advice with the wiring to the amp.. Can I use the imputs from the stock amp.. or do I have to run a Low level output from the HU..

Thanks in advance..

Are you going to be using the stock radio?

I am using the stock HU..

I don't want to lose the controls on the wheel..

I had my old system running off of the stock unit. You will need to buy a converter that will convert regular wires coming out of your radio into RCA plugs. Make sure you get a quality brand because you can get alot of noise if you dont and distortion.

I connected mine right behind the radio and i used the rear channels of the radio to power it that way it gave me a little more control over the sound because i could fade to the front speakers to have less bass.

Then from there you will need to run RCA plugs to your amp. An amp is easy to install. You will need to run a power line, ground, RCA plugs and a remote to it. You will want to pick something that turns on with the ignition of the car not a line that has power all the time because then your amp will always be on and drain your battery.

When you run your RCA lines try to stay away from power wires because those can add some interferance and make sure you ground it in a good spot or you could get engine whine through your speakers.

If you have any specific questions with the install i can help you because i had the same exact setup you had before i upgraded my stock radio.

Here is a pic of my converter i used and is just sitting in my closet right now so you can have an idea on what one looks like.
