help no reverse

Hi. I'm Jesse and i am new to the forum. I Have a 2001 Sport Trac 4X2 4.0L with the 5r55e trans. I have no reverse at all. it went out all at once, no slipping or signs at all. i went into a gas station and came out and it hasnt worked since. what do you think can be the problem? thanks a lot for listening.

yes i do have a manual 1st gear. if by manual you mean i have a 1 on my dash. i have P R N D 2 1. think you know what is up?

Check the low/reverse servo for chips. The next step would be the reverse modulation valve in the valve body.

The reverse modulation valve is in the valve body. The low/reverse servo is under a plate with 4 bolts. Check the sticky thread called the 5R55E valve body rebuild diary for more information.
