The time has come for me to get new tires. After spending 3 hours today on my truck I really decided that I need to get new ones soon. I am going to get some BFG All -Terrain T/As. But the size was a question. I was told I could I could fit 30 or 31 inch tires on my 93 navajo, now I cnat reamember which it was. All I remember is that the ones on now measure out to someitng like 28.9 inch. So I want bigger, is it 30? Also Is the Speedometer Drive Gear going to need replacing to accomodate the larger tire size, also the odo? Also what are some positives and negatives to getting new tires. I am pretty convinced the positives out weigh the negatives. Any help would be great because I am gopign to decide really really soon, and my inexperience in 4 wheeling might end up making me do the wrong thing. Thanks

Excellent choice in a tire! I have had mine for 4 months and love them! The 30's should fit no problem. Some Explorers/Navajos can fit 31's with little or no rubbing. I would have the tire company check with you standing there. Yes, the speedo and odometer are going to be off a little with a slightly larger tire. As for getting new gears to fix it, that is your choice. It would be nicer to have so you don't have to do the math but it is not necessary.
