Hello everyone,

I would like to start out with I am not very knowledgable about vehicle repairs. However I do have common sense and Internet acess.

I am looking at replacing my whole clutch system(slave, pressure plate, etc) I had brought it in to a ford dealership and had my clutch done. They did not replace the slave. Immediately after having this done I was sticking in my bottom gears and reverse. I have no obveious signs of leaking. I can however bleed my clutch and it works amazing for only 1,000km the same old problem. I have replaced my clutch master, again same issue. It has now been over a year and I can finally afford to buy a clutch to install. I am going to replace everything myself but do not know what brand to buy I will order online in town is to expensive.

I live in canada and would like some advice for what type to order.

Thank you!! :)

LUK is a good brand, it's what Ford puts in. ;)
But for the slave, you want to get a Ford slave only.
Any aftermarket brand will go bad in short order.

Why do you want to replace the clutch itself? Sounds near new...

Why not take it back to the dealership and have them re-do the job, replacing the slave this time (of course paying for the part) since they didn't do it previously?

If you need to replace the clutch or pressure plate, LUK seems to be OEM, Sachs might also be the same thing.

As mentioned, when replacing the slave cylinder, OEM Ford (Motorcraft) is what you want. They aren't always less expensive online, though. The right Ford dealer can sell you the slave for about what it costs anywhere else.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest a visit to the dealer that did the work and speak with the people in charge. If they care about customer service they will offer to replace the slave (if you pay for the part) and not charge for the labor since it was not replaced when the clutch was replaced.
