When I am driving between speeds of 30 to 45 mph my explorer starts to vibrate. The whole car shakes and I can also feel the vibration in the steering wheel. I think it is a u-joint. Also when I am driving between 30 to 45 whenever I let off the gas pedal the vibration stops altogether.

Well, you can look underneath to see any obvious problems with the u-joints. Another thing that had happened to me once was that there was so much mud on my rims, it was causing an unbalance. You could check that or maybe you lost one of the lead weights on the rims.

Sounds more like an unbalanced wheel than U-joints, especially if the vibration goes away after a certain speed...

I have the same problem but between 65-70 mph. If its an unbalanced wheel thats possible because I have so much mud globbed on my wheels its stupid. Tomorrow Ill pull them off and wash the hell out of em.

Yeah, that had never occured to me before. I had just gotton back from mudding, and had the above symptoms, I spent $5 dollares washing the wheels out and it stopped shaking.

I picked up a small screw in my front drivers side tire and it made it shake horribly by throwing the tire out of balance. You could check that.
