hi. i have a 91 sport. i installed a kenwood cd deck about 2 years ago and never new about harnesses (i was 15 and excited). anyway, my deck turns on seperate from the car (i can just press power to turn it on and off). i want it to turn on and off when i turn the key. i did a search and found this which helps me alot but still dosent tell me what to do. my deck has a red, yellow (w/ a black box), and a black (ground). i know basic principles of hooking it up but didn't really know what went where. thanks.

Black - Ground
Red - Ground
Blue - Amplifier Turn On

Light blue w/ red stripe - Dimmer
Orange w/ black stripe - Illumination

Yellow w/ black stripe - 12 Volt Accessory Power
Green w/ yellow stripe - 12 Volt Constant Power

wow ive never seen 2 grounds and one being red....
i havent done an explorer yet, so i dont know if thats true or not..

If the Kenwood's got standard color wiring, hook the yellow to constant power (green/yellow), red to switched power (yellow/black), and leave the ground wherever you have it, since it seems to work. I think my first X did have a red ground and then a common ground that was for the speakers or something weird like that.
