Help with doorhandle

i was about to leave school today when i opened the door and i felt something pop on the inside of the handle. The door opened fine so i thought nothing of it. I got home and went to open the door from the inside of the X and the handle on the was super hard to pull, alomost as if it was gonna break. It finally popped, the door unlocked, and the door opened, but something isnt right. I locked the door from the inside then shut it. I put the key in the lock on the door, but i cant turn the key. Its almost as if something is jammed and its in the way of the key turning. The only way for me to get in now is to get in the passenger side, reach over and pull the handle from the inside (which it feels like its gonna break). Any ideas????
