A little help, stock '95 explorer 4X4 4.0L A/T with steering freeplay, just started noticing a little freeplay in steeing wheel, speeds above 25mph, (does not effect steering or tracking of vehicle, just play in wheel) and the lower steering shaft looks like hell, both seals destroyed, yet when watching, no visible freeplay or difference between shaft and box linkage. Any chance someone else has delt with this issue? Possible gear freeplay for normal wear and tear? Any help?
Thanks,
Jimbo

Probably just normal wear in the rack (inside where the gears mesh).

maby air in the power sterring lines.
