I would like to apply Herculiner to my rockers and eventually my custom bumpers.
Do you have to sand down to bare metal, or can you apply over paint?
Thaks,
Ryan

Instructions o nthe stuff ccalls for just roughing it up, no need to go to bare metal, BUT MAKE SURE YOU ROUGH EVER SQUARE INCH that you want the herc to stick to, i have a spot where i got lazy and now its peeled off.......

What do you mean by roughing it up-- like scratching it and putting a wire brush to it?

they include soem kinda of pad, cant rememebr what you call them, :banghead:

But i used sandpaper, cant remember what grit, i did this a while ago.....

But i jsut sand papered it and cleaned it up and rolled the herc on....

I'm planning on doing my rockers and my custom bumpers. The bumpers I'm not worried about, but I just don't want the liner to flake off of the truck.
Is that the smooth type or the textured kind?

Never knew there was smooth, mien is the Rough Textured Kind, I was gunan do my front bumper, but this stuff, i cant get the Car Wash mit near it or it will pull all of the stuff off of it, and leave it on there, So i didnt I jsut got some spray paint and went at it... Now my stock frotn bumper, i bought that cheap spray paitn can bed lienr from advance auto, it isnt as rough in textured, its jut like sand got mixed into the paint, it didnt grab the Wash Mit as bad....
