1999 Explorer Sport
I have just joined this forum, and I have a 1999 Explorer Sport that's causing me some trouble just now. The check engine light keeps coming on, and the vehicle is running very sluggish, and consuming twice as much gas as it normally does (as if the price of gas is not already through the sky!).

I had a diagnostic check done and states that it is P1405-- which is, as I understand it, the Differential Feedback Pressure ESR. As a "do-it-yourselfer", I need to identify the part, and where it is located. How do I go about testing and replacing the part? Any suggestions??

Thnx

OK
On your driver side exhaust manifold, you will see 2 smaller lines (hoses) going to a rectangular shaped box with an electrical connector--this is the DPFE sensor

Check the lines (hoses) real carefully, they commonly burn a hole near sensor.

Problem solved! Thank-you very much!!
