I have a 2005 Explorer XLT. I have my HID kit and am ready to install it. When I looked under the hood I could not see a clear space to mount the ballast. Just curious as to where to mount my ballast. I have double sided tape to mount it. Pictures would be amazing if possible. Thanks for the help in advance.

lol how big is ur ballast i have two sets under my hood and one set underneath for fogs. A good spot is on the plastic housing for the fan there is 2 indent spots on either side that a hid ballast fits perfect, ill see if i can take a pic on my break. Or u can squeeze one between battery and on the left side of the intake box. Ill get you a picture around 10:30am EST hahaha

I got the Raptors from DDmtuning. Been sitting in a box for a couple weeks because it doesnt know how to stop snowing in MN. LOL. I havnt actually pulled the whole headlight out yet so was asking around before to ahve a better idea of where to put them instead of trial and error. Thanks for the help the picture would be awesome.

I actually had a pic lol here is 2:

And u can see on the right of the batter i used velcroe so i can pull it out and put it back with out sticky glue problems, the one by the batter is for the high beams the low beams are mount on top of fan housing.

If i could re do anything i would mount the low beams one closer to one side so I could of fit both ballast's on it but o well.

You are the man! Im gonna take a look when I get home today and see what I can do. I have double sided tape to mount mine so hopefully that will be good enough.

it will do fine thats what is holding the low beams down for about 2 years now haven't had one problem

I have 2 sets (4 Ballasts) mounted to the plastic thing fedy showed.

Fedy, where did you mount your fog light ballasts? I might want to move mine from their current location.

its raining today so i cant show u a pic but ill try to explain it. where the fog lights are there is a slight lip that they can be rested on or taped or mounted for easy installation if you got some time then i would recommend 3m double sided tape or velcro. velcro makes it easy to change out bulbs and what not. But mine are mounted about a foot away from the fog light location closest to the edge by the wheel on each side mounted with double sided tape. Hasnt came loose yet. make sure the area is cleaned well or the double sided tape will fail
