Hi all,
I’m new to the forum but have been lurking for some time. You all have helped a lot! Thank you!
Right now my ‘99 explorer 148,000 miles 4.0 SOHC is having some idle issues. It starts fine and idles smoothly but as soon as it reaches operating temperature around 210 it revs up to about 1000-1400 RPM and hunts. The temp (using scan tool) rises to about 230 or so and I’ll run it at about 2200 RPM until it cools down a bit and it idles fine again until it heats back up.
Already tried the IAC no dice. Could it be the T-stat??
