High milage explorers?

'91 Sport (Mazda Navajo, actually) 210,000, manual, original owner
On second set of tires (114K on current set, 1/4 inch tread left...unbelievable! First set ran 96K, BTW, current set is Firestone Radial ATX made in Japan)
replaced both heads at 207K
replaced alternator twice, last time at 207K
replaced radiator at 207K
replaced transfer case motor at 105K

Always have run Mobil1, burns no oil between changes
Still gets 20+ mpg highway

Definitely not an "Exploder", got my money's worth!

I have a 93 xlt 4wd. Bought it last summer with 92000 now has 98200 been very reliable, it has a new trans, I lucked out on that when i bought it and brought it home I found the trans work paper sheets in the glovebox. I have changed the oil, and the thermostat (pain in the as$. I have been very pleased so far
Update, as of today I turned over 112,000 miles still been very happy, things i have done are changed to warn manual hubs. That was the best thing i ever did i could see the difference in gas mileage. Just recently changed front rotors and pads and calipers, one caliper seems to be leaking going to have to change that again. I also switched to mobil 1, the 7500 synthetic blend, i swear it runs better, i had some minor leaking of oil so i was skeptical but so far it doesn't leak anymore than before, i have to add about a quart or less between changes. All in all i am very satisfied with this vehicle. On my way to 200,000 i hope it makes it

Update: I'm up to 01000.0... but to be more accurate... it's really 201000.

Our 1993 XLT Was totalled by an old lady in a Buick at 175,000 miles. We bought it used at 60k miles, but significant repairs in our ownership:
Transmission:150k
Intake gasket: ~120k
Ac compressor: ~ 130k
Front brakes many times.

We replaced it with a used 1998 with ~60k miles. It just turned 100k, so far:
AC Dryer.

All other repairs were insignificant, IMO, or self-inflicted.

update...

my 98 5.0L is now at 152k. All original drivetrain and still going strong.......

I gott 175k off my 91 explorer before I had any serious problems.

Made it to the 400,000 thousand mark and 2 transmissions. till my parents let me have the car...kinda lost compression in 2 clyinders later on, but now i have a new engine that just went up to 12,000 miles.. Want to make you car last long, let your parents drive it.

'97 Eddie Bauer 4X4 w/ControlTrac
99,850 miles

Have owned since 81K, bought from dealer, so had no idea what was done before I attained it. but it was very clean and ran great. one advantage is that my neighbor is a ford mechanic at the local dealership. Actually its an awesome advantage. I bring him a 12 pack and i get some nice answers and even help sometimes.
My driving consist of 95% city driving if anyones familiar with Jersey. So my mileage sucks (about 12 MPG) but i dont go far, so its affordable. I've owned the truck since Nov. '03.

Things I've fixed:

Brakes (all around)
New front rotors
New shocks
Emergency Brake pads
Replaced O2 sensor (drivers side)
(Neighbor checked with scanner when check engine light came on at 89K)

Things I've added:

K&N cold air intake
Gibson Catback exhaust
Window Visors (Smoker...so I can crack the window when it rains)
I give it a oil change religiously every 3K

Things That need attention:

Flush the radiator
The Air bag light is blinking a "42" code ( gotta go get a 12 pack)

92 Ford with 4.0 engine, AOD transmission. Bought it with 80,000 miles, changed plugs/wires/tranny fluid at 100k miles (may of been a few other minor things, I dont rember anything major), at 130k miles I sold it (as is.. to a friend who knew what was wrong with it) with the overdrive gone, engine ticking. Prolly a month later the transmission went up in a big white cloud of smoke.. 10k miles later the engine dropped a valve... he rebuilt engine and replaced trasnmission, I got it back about a year after he owned it... engine runs great, something wrong with the transmission.. it drives... ~150k miles..

Just put a lift on it, going to start figuring out whats up with the transmission...
