High picthed engine whine

Just wondering if there is any new info on this. Mine has developed a similar sound but it only happens at around 4,000RPM and up and I'm trying to figure out exactly where it's coming from.

nope no new info still making the sound but im not too worried about it. It's coming from the transmission area but it runs and drives fine.

Hi whilst generally trawling the how to's i read one on cleaning the IAC valve and on it people were saying they were getting a whine from this. Worth a search? The consensus was that it could be cleaned but a new one was best as not too expensive.
( Don't know if mine whines as i cant hear anything over the timing chain rattle!!!)
