haha that's a huge price range. But yeah, search -- there is a lot of information on peoples build ups and how much everything cost roughly. I mean, granted, a solid axle conversion shouldnt be done by just anyone -- so just stay within your limits. I installed my 4" Trailmater kit and it wasn't too bad; but we did have to have a few special tools to make it all work out right. But I'm at a independent shop -- not a driveway. And for the 4" suspension lift -- look at about a 15-20 hour job. It's a bundle! Don't forget alignment, wheels and tires, and possibly/hopefully gears.

3" body lift on '01 sport explorer

i know you can put a ranger body lift on an '01 explorer with minor modifications but i dont know what those are. does anyone know?

OK,,,, I have to get something off my chest here...not trying to sound like an ass, but why all the bashing 2wd's. My truck was a gift givin to me by my mom and it's really nice i love the truck. 95 XLT leather and all the works i mean why would u complain about that. HELL... throw some muds TT and shackles, and locker and gears and she could be one hella rig for trails u know...damn sorry just my $.02c
