Highest original parts mileage

Yea I hear ya GI, Im amazed to see how many 95's and 6's are doing well. It makes me feel good. I did want to add I had to replace my fuel pump 2 days before starting this thread though ha.

I think the 95-96 ohv-4r55e or v8-4r70w from any year is a great combo. The 4r55e is a beefed up A4LD with improvements. The OHV is old school proven tech. The 97+ SOHC / 5r55e increased performance but introduced some notable reliability issues and many unhappy customers. From car complaint sites, I don't think ford got the trans right until 04 or 05. The 3rd gen has horrible trans issues with their sealed trans.

My 95 eddybar w/bw4505 - POS xfer case, 4 liter. Ihave ownd this one for about 3 yrs now , it had 182,000 on it when I got it from original owner. He
verifiesd it had no engine or trans rebuilds ever. Shortly after I got it the xfer case went out in the classic 4505 failure mode and I rebuilt it stem to stern. I commute 150 miles each workday and do lotsa f-ing off on the weekends but I have always been careful to not hammer this rig due to it high miles, which were largely high way miles. It now has 332,000 and change and all I have done to it at this point other than the x-fer case is the usual water pump, alternator , spark plug items. I has proabaly had an A/C compressor put on it I would assume but there is no evidence of this. The motor has a little rod knock in it and timing gear/chain wear is definitely there but she uses no oil. NO OIL usage except some leaks from under the front of the intake manifold! The trans died last week tho--- no third gear hookup -- it shifts but slips at any loading in 3. I have had severtal exploders and my wife is still putting 100 miles per day on a 1991 4 speed manual 4 liter that we have owned for 10 years! Her odom broke at 398,000 mi!
addendum: On my 95 I have also replaced both front cv joints and, lower ball joints recently. If you try to drive these like they are some kinda pro baja rig or supper-dupre rockcrawler you wont get **** fer miles--expecting a mere 100,000 from an automatic trans these days is just symptomatic of abuse.

The 97 Eddie (avatar) has 165k on it all original, altho the whole front end needs replaced now.

My 97 XLT SOHC has 206k all original, has the rattle to it tho.

2002 ford explorer XLS, 53,000 miles. All original, no repairs.

Am amazed! Mine is a 2000 Northface uk spec, very like your Limited. She is stock cept for KN induction as far as the engine goes and has 85K on her- still sweet. I did however have to do the timing chain tensioners, front and rear at 80k. I hope she lasts as long as some of yours she is spoilt rotten with no expense spared...My good Girl deserves it!

99 Mountaineer 5.0 AWD
DIED last week 224,000miles on motor. rod failure.
just transplanted replacement motor with 116,000 on it,
all new front end (ball joints, axles, front drive shaft, brakes, rotors wheel bearings, sway bar pins and bushings.)

It is my wifes truck, we have 16 month old twins. it is for them. it is a beauty. rear heat you know ;)

PAID FOR ! ALONG TIME AGO!!!!! BIG WORDS:D

frame and some of the body....
althoguh i dont think my abomination counts in this game

Nevertheless, the end product is badass :P

Mine just hit 142,000 miles, and runs great, save the fact that my transfer case is screwed up at the moment. Everything's bone stock and original, except the fuel pump, which I replaced last week (the sending unit was bad, and my fuel gauge wouldn't read)...for now

I'll play... 98 OHV 141k, original engine, tranny, rear end, axles including original AC and Fuel Pump. No oil leaks. Doesn't burn oil.

Replaced the original Alternator at 139k. MAF at 140k

93' Explorer Sport - 237,000, all original miles on the engine, pretty much all original truck except the following parts

- Radio
- Drives Side Door Handle
- Some Transmission Parts (I've really beat up on this thing since I got it at 19)
- PCV Valve (made it to around 234,000 miles)

This truck has gone to hell and back for me, and just keeps on ticking. Fought the snowstorm and only lost (got stuck) 3 times with ice under all 4 tires. Just high centered her on the rear diff in a ditch at a 45 degree angle, water up to the trim on the drivers side.....had a tow truck pull it out, still drives fine.

Right now due for a tune-up and much sooner a new clutch. Only the 3rd Clutch that truck has ever had, and I'm HARD on clutches, and it's never even had a tune-up, but the oil consumption (a quart every 3000 miles) and the gas mileage dropping to 15-17 mpg on the average tells me it's time.

95 Eddie Bauer Expl 4x4, 2nd owner since 30K miles. Now has 199K miles.

Maintenance items:
transmission rebuild @ 172k
water pump, radiator and timing chain w/ tensioners just changed @ 199k
steering pump replaced at 199k
steering rack and ball joints replaced at 132k
fuel pump ~ 85k

Still original and running fine:
Air conditioning system - completely untouched and still cold
alternator
4x4 system transfer case - fluid change only
Valve cover gaskets - no leaks
wheel bearings

Hauls everything, pulls boat. It's a keeper.

143,000 and still going strong. Front suspension rebuilt, along with a couple of IACs and a GEM module. Other than that, original and trouble free. It has been "death rattling" for over 90,000 miles though......still won't die!!!!

96 XLT with 5.0L Auto - 214,000 miles on original engine, trans, and rear end.

Replaced the water pump, radiator, and fuel pump this past summer. This is still my primary transportation and never lets me down.

I have a little update, my 95 Limited has original motor, rear end, and everything on the drive belt save the alternator (and the belt tensioner and idler pulley). But something is about to go, I got tired to trying to diagnose what was making the noise so now I am just waiting for it to fail. Also have the original radiator, and I have never touched the AC and it still cold.

Things I have had to replace, fuel pump, some emissions valve in the back of the engine, shocks, alternator (three times) tranny rebuild, battery and thats about it. Its my daily driver and has 189,000 on it.

i bought my '88 bronco ll new off the Ford dealer in Oct. of that year. it now has 389,000 kilometers (241,000 miles). the engine rattles like an old diesel but will quieten down after 10 minutes of idling. the mitsy-*****y 5 speed is original as is the t/case. the rear 7.5 popped a few teeth off the 3.45's at about 200,000 km. so i put in 4.10s and got lucky and found a d28 4.10 for the front at the same time. it remains out back with the snowplow on the front waiting for the next dump perhaps tonight & tomorrow.

my '91 explorer that i bought last fall ($300) has 306,000 kilometers on it. not positive it is original but there isn't any evidence of the engine having been dismantled.
both average about 22 mpg around town and don't burn or leak oil between changes every 5000 km.
my '78 F350 crewcab has only 116,000 km on it and i have the original window sticker and invoice from when my father bought it new in '78. it is original right down to the AM radio.
toys.........they are only toys.......especially the snowplow :can:

I got a 1999 OHV with 169k original engine and tranny. Nothing to major re-sealed timing chain cover (was leaking coolant), 2 alternators, several brake jobs, rotors, new front end i.e., tie rods and control arms, 1 injector replaced. Changed fluid in tranny once getting ready to do again, oil changes ever 5k belt replaced, several sets of tires and plugs and fuel filter. Expensive fairly, but it is reliable and ready. 1 of 3 cars.

I have had the truck since new getting ready to give it to my kids. Decided to keep the truck as it runs very good and would drive it anywhere any time. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know.

after 140,000 miles, pretty much 98% OEM. Never any work on the engine or transmission apart from regular maintenance, tho they could use a little work now.

'97 XLT OHV 4x4. Has 130k. Only major repair is a/c compressor 2 years ago. Have replaced egr valve and sensor, and maf sensor. Engine and tranny are original otherwise. Very well maintained. Have owned since 35k. Very happy with this truck. Maintenance is the key!!
