hitting animals and insurance

Used to drive a '90 T-Bird - great car but it died of rust. Driving to work in the morning on the first day of deer hunting season. I knew to be on the lookout for bambi as hunting season gets them all out in places where you normally never see them. Along the trip in one location, there are large flat farmer's fields on both sides of the road. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a deer running tword the road and I instinctively slow down. I then get a better look, and this deer is really moving - straight at me from the right side - and faster than I thought a deer ever could go. I slammed on the brakes, then sped up then slammed on the brakes again. Each time I change speed this deer seems to change course to keep heading right at me. I slam on the brakes a second time, come to a complete stop just as - BLAM - it hits the front right fender and goes a** over teakettle up over the hood.

So here I am along the side of the road with a dented fender plus scratches and dents on the hood trying to collect my composure and a state trooper pulls up behind me. "Honest officer - I didn't hit a deer, the damn dear hit me!" "License and registration please."

Several years ago I was driving down a country road at night, and I slowed down to a crawl to let a doe and fawn cross in front of me. I noticed a buck nearby in the field. Before I knew it...CRASH, and I looked just in time to see horns slamming into my rear passenger window. To this day I believe the buck attacked my EX, thinking it was a threat to the doe and fawn, but I can't prove it. Long story short....Geico paid about 4 grand for the damage to my right side, no questions asked. I just told them what happened and they asked if I had my seat belt on (I did,) and if anyone was hurt. They never raised my rates. The buck disappeared into the woods.

Squirell-no damage
possum-no damage
armadillo-no damage
buck (just a spike)- no damage, just moved my bumper down a lil so i pulled it back up lol

Not in my sport, but so far, I've hit a turkey in my rodeo.. It took off a few feet in front of me and hit the windshield. Scared the crap out of me. It bounced off and kept flying. Then recently, I hit a spike buck with my fiance's Toyota yaris. I figured a bumper replacement and door skin replacement. Total bill came out to $3600. But I did have a groundhog run into the wheel of my sport one day while driving down the road. It just gave him a headache as he wasn't there a few minutes later when I came back down the road.
