hoe to remove front left cv joint?

I have Ford Explorer with 135K miles on it with bad CV joint, I tried to remove this moring followed by auto manual but whew, it's so hard.
Upper ball joint just not disengaged just like manual said. Does any one can help me how to removed the front left cv joint?
