I'd like to say one thing to everybody out there who hasn't changed over to WARN manual hubs.

DO IT

My auto's grenaded on me on the freeway last week, what a mess. I would have changed them years ago had I known the benefits.

Just my $.02

I hope you weren't running in 4wd on dry pavement!

what

What is with all this about busting the auto hubs?
I've never had any problems...tranny yes, hubs no.

Are there any aftermarket replacements for the {b]autos[/b] like not manual conversions..those of you hating the warns help out here...whats to do?

Ilike my on-the-fly-4by.

I would have to agree with Anime4x4. I have 101k on my 93 EB and I have yet to encounter a problem with my auto's. My tranny is also doing fine(knock on wood). Hey Anime i saw on one of those ford parts website an upgraded version of the auto hubs. I'll try to find it.

Thanks leebo, thats the one.

well

Well...at least theres an option...thanx 4 the link leebo. Whats the diff between the orig hubs and these upgrades? Is it that "newer" material from warn so they dont heat up and wear out or whatever it is..?

I'd sure like to hear opinions of anyone who replaced their hubs with these how they work..better/no improvement? I guess it might be worth the extra $100 (warn hubs $150, new autos $250)if they wont break again.

Joe..give your EB about 50-60k and the tranny will start going..hehe use synthetic.

Well... here is what happened(According to a FORD tech) the plastic guts of the hub had warped under heat stress and caused the hubs to not fully disengage, therefore leaving me in partial 4 wheel drive on the pavement. So at about 45 mph she let go.
