aw man, i might have to miss the bbq, it's my nieces birthday one of those days and i said i'd go down there for a birthday party...

btw - marshall, lemme know if you have some spare time before the run to put that locker in...i'll be out of town from the 10th-15th, but other than that, any other day is fine.

There's still a BBQ, the day before the run, Saturday...

We will try our best to make that. It will be fun just meeting everyone that is coming from out of town.

Heath, he aslo said I could start swimming anytime.

Well crew, I will be going to Vail Colorado and arriving on the 13th of July and we plan to run holy cross possibly on the 14th. My buddy just put 5 inches under his 99 TJ so he will be leading us to some other trails, it would be great to see another Explorer or two or ten to tag along anywhere.

So is this going to be like the last time you came out to Colorado and wanted everyone to meet up with you and SOMEONE forgot to show up?????
:p
I'm out for any wheeling, but if people are going to get together we might be able to do that depending on what's going on.

So I'm assuming this trail wasn't affected by the fire at all? I dunno much about CO geography, so sorry if that's a dumb question.

Anyway, I'm still planning on coming up on my way back to TX. Rick doesn't know if he's coming, and Perry isn't, so I'll need a seat if someone doesn't mind. Splat will have 33's by then and the rear posi as always, but y'all probably don't want me to try it. I'd prefer a front seat though as sometimes I have motion sickness :(

Hope to see y'all soon! I'll get directions closer to the date.

I assume it is affected, Most everything Else is, maybe Conavajo has an update.

The Hayman fire (and others) came nowhere near the Holy Cross trail. :)

Well whats up with all of this!! Am I the only one left thats still set in running this trail?? I'm not running this by myself. Oh well at least I'll see you all at the BBQ. Maybe since I'm driving the X there its better off not to wheel it hardcore.

Well Perry I never made plans to go to Colorado, this is the trip. See I'm a broke college kid who has to plan these trips around when I get off of work. This trip has been in the plans for a long long time

And if anyone wants to run the trails a week earlier, we could coordinate. Ordered my rear locker today!!!!!

Hey Dannyboy, it's just good you get to come out.

So whats the plan? I'm kinda lost.

Well, I hate to piss any one off, but I may have to bow out of this one too. I just don't think my truck is in good enough condition to be doing a trail like this until I can sink some money into her...I took her off-roading this weekend and banged her up some...then got stuck on a fairly easy part  She's bangin a lot when I was just going over easy stuff (I think it's the rear SOA brackets just clicking around, but I still don't know, I've gotten underneath numerous times to see any cracks or loose bolts or anything like that, and can't seem to find anything...) I think I might have screwed up my transmission too <sigh>... I REALLY wish I had enough money for a tow vehicle that I didn't have to worry about breaking and being left without a car... If I can do some work on it and find somewhere to put that locker in (which will be hard, i'm going out of town on the 10th-15th) then I might be able to make it...

maybe we could do an easier trail (sorry derrick!) that other people could take their trucks on and it'd be easier. worse comes to worse we'll still be able to meet at the bbq and have some fun, hopefully i'll be able to make that :D

dannyboy - if you're still around after the 15th, we could always get a few people together and just grab a bite to eat or somethin...i'd at least like to take a look at your X if you have the time to spare...

Six Tire, Hey man don't worry about it. I'll be just as happy having fun with all you guys at the BBQ. Hell if you guys wanna run an easier trail thats fine with me. I just wanted to see the good ole back country while I was there. And I know what you mean about your truck. Right now it seems every time I use the front ARB I end up snapping the front axle retaining clip. I'm fine with just breaking that but its getting to be a pain in the ass to fix.

But I'll be there early July 20th(like 6 a.m.) and I'll be leaving on the 27th. Heath and I have alot of plans of doing stuff if anyone would like to join us. Plus you all can meet my hotty honey.

well, you can still make a decent run with just w or 3 trucks, in fact it might be preferred. When we did it it was me, Joe Dietz and Perry, with all the other traffic on the trail that was enough, I coudl see it going fine with a few more but 3-4 is a good number of people to go. ANother thing you can do if you don't think your vehicle is highly modified enough is what Joe and Perry did last year, drive just up to the point of French Creek and stop. Just before french creek there is parking area where you can leave your vehicle and the trail doesn't continue too far past that (as is my understanding, I made it past French creek but then turned around and came back down)

Well I think I'm still in for at least riding along. The BBQ is the 20th, correct? Anyway, if y'all decide to do an easier trail I can probably run it instead of parking. I wanna test out the new 33s!

BTW, if I look at my road map of the Southwest, what can I look for so I know what area I'm gonna be in?

HeHe I know where its gonna be. I was there Friday hooking people up. I saw you and Tara, Masn you must be blind and hard of hearing Heath. I saw you trying to make a left hand turn onto Crestline, I stopped Honked and waved right in the middle of the entrance but you didn't see me. Oh yeah you guys have a nice pool.

Also if we run some of the easier trails I would be able to drive the hoopty. So I wouldn't need to hitch a ride.

I hate to say it, but I'm outta this one. It's just too soon after our last trip. I have way more stuff piled up here from our 3 week trip than I ever imagined.

Have fun... I sure wish I could get outta here for another week though:(
