hood and fenders COLD

Hey I have a really strange occurance happening as of recent, My X used to ALWAYS heat up the hood and fenders dramaticly, but as of the last month or so after driving 4 or 5 hours the hood and fenders are still cold to the touch, like you couldnt tell I have been driving it. I think this is very strange and I cant for the life of me figure out why its like this. even in 70 degree weather we had last weekend it was still as cool as the rest of the body.

Anyone have any ideas? because Im clueless. Thanks, Jon

Did you do any coolant work? Add / change fluid? Clean any debris from the grill?
It seems weird that all of a sudden you have such a temperature change. Only avenue I can muster is better effency on the coolant, which means either the fluid is working better or the fan is in overdrive.

Well I did take my grill off and blew the coils out with my speed air compressor, but other then that I changed my heater control valve? i think that was the name , lol it connects to the heater core.

Those 2 things could very well have improved the engine cooling process & cut down the temperature in the engine compartment. When you pop the hood now does the air seem cooler to you? If so then that did the trick. How much crud came out of the coils? Blocked / dirt crusted coils do not dissapate heat like clean ones.

It wasnt too bad because the radiator is only like 4 years old but alot of leaf pieces and dirt

could it be just its cooler relative to the ambient air temperature?

during the winter time it woulda felt warmer because the outside air was cold
and now that the outside air is warm if the engine bay is about the same temperature as in the winter then it would feel colder...

dirty rads bieng cleaned can dramatically affect how much better your truck cools itself. I think you have a happier motor right now. I Dont think you need to worry about it.

well hopefully it will be a little happier after today, Im replacing my heater core so at the same time I am going to flush the system.
