That looks badasssss!

Thnx Brian....as I said I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out.

The v8 stickers look nice on there too :D

Yeah...I think that's what makes it. I thought the silver on the decal would be a little darker and match the grey on the bottom of the truck a little better but it's close enough.

Looks awesome!
we need details! Did you bolt it on? Stick it on? Paint it yourself? Get it on ebay?

I got it off E-bay from LQK. It came off of an '04 Mustang GT. Also got the decals off E-bay. A local body shop repaired the corrosion on my hood and I had them paint the scoop and install it. They bolted it on and had to modify the grill in the front of the scoop. Charged me $500 to strip and paint top and bottom of the hood and paint and install the scoop.

Looks very good man! Congrats

Thnx jad

Its nice man.. I really like it...

I was kinda worried i might not like it...saw a few pics of another X with one on and something just didn't look right...but after seeing it on mine I love the way it looks.

is it a real scoop or just a bolt on

Bolt on..off an '04 Mustang GT

looks awesome u got pics of 06-08 tails on ur x too

That looks bad ass! Do you know the manufacturer and model of it? And where'd you get the stickers? Ever thought of cutting the hood and making it functional? That's pretty much the look I want on my hood, just functional...

its from a mustang so its a ford product

there are other less then nice products

just do a search on ebay for hood scoops

eitherway its going to be a custom job to make them fit our hoods

They had to do a little modifying to the front grill of the scoop...other than that it was just a bolt on process once the hood was all painted. And I got the decals off E-bay also. As far as making it functional it'd be more work than I want to do. Since the K&N is located behind the pass. side headlight it'd be quite a bit of work to have the air come in and go right to that. Also just leaving it open would allow rain, leaves and whatever else to get into it and all over the engine. It was pretty much just for looks.

Here's the tails Sam.

Yes, I know all about eBay scoops, I've been looking for a scoop that would work on our X's for a while now, that's why I was asking about his, because it looks good. And I reread his post after posting my question, and saw that it was and OEM Mustang scoop...

Wouldn't it entail just cutting a hole in the hood? It wouldn't make for a ram air setup, but it would still help keep the engine cool. And as long as you keep the grill on, the only thing that should get in would be small stuff, and rain.

Now, as far as a ram air setup, that'd be a little more complicated, but I'm still going to try to do it, lol...

Who'd you get the letters from? I'm thinking I might just get Blee to make mine...looks like you had them put a few layers of clear coat over it after the letters? Good touch, looks factory.

I understand...just not looking to cut a hole in my hood...lol. I figured if it was really that helpful Ford would have cut holes in the Mustang hoods....LOL. And I forget who I got the decals from...just do a search on ebay for Mustang hood scoop decal.
