SOHCs don't have manuals until I think this model year right now. If for some really odd reason you have a manual, it has 210 @5,200 RPMs Horsepower and 240 lbs./ft. @ 3,200 RPMs of torque. Hella nice engine
If you have the OHV, which you probably do, it has 160 HP and umm...something torque. I don't know since I got the SOHC.
The SOHC was not offered with a manual transmission until the '01 model year. Since you are positive yours is a manual transmission, I am positive you have the 160 HP OHV.
If we had told you it was 210 horespower for sure, you would have driven it exactly the way you are now, thinking it was 210 horses under the hood. But now we tell you it is a 160 HP OHV, and you freak out and want an engine swap ??
The OHV is a tested and true engine, as opposed to the SOHC, which has a lot of recalls in its first years...Just be happy with what you have come to like so far....160 HP
yeah the OHV isnt' hard to "wake up." if i were you i'd get a chip, exhaust, intake and do that infamous throttle cab mod. that should give it a a nice bit of pick up.
Sorry to hear that you only have an OHV. I know we can't all have the good V-6 *Flame suit on*
Sorry guys, I just had to . 160 Horsepower is still a lot because you got torque to back up that horsepower. It's still enough to push you ahead of that little ricer-burner Civic.
the good V6 hehe. that may be, coming straight out of the factory that is, but remember we can drop in a S/C with 8lbs of boost and not blow our engines. you guys can only hold about 6lbs of boost and that's still living dangerously.
