When I start up the Explorer when its hot it will run on 5 cylenders, and obvously run extreamly roughly. This will continue until i either get on the gas enough to force it to clear up or if i let it idle for 4-6mins or so. The Plugs and wires are pretty new and dont have many miles on them. What should i start looking for? :navajo:

bad coil...(usually called a hot coil)
check it...don't replace it just because

Check for fuel in the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator (FPR). This is a common description of what it can do when the FPR goes bad.

what kind of cost am i looking at if its a bad coil and or the FPR?

I want to keep the Ex running good for the next 2 years or so and i also want to get good gas milage for the mostly city driving i do. As a result i dont want to dump tons of money into the the truck if I can avoid it, it is only worth 2500 at most.
