Is that what they're called? So no one will steal my nice rims? If not, do I just buy them at Pep Boys? Are there different ones for different types? Are they easy to put on? Then I have to carry around another 'key'?

If you have them, on lugnut on each wheel will look different than the rest. The end will have an odd shaped recessed area that the "key" fits into. They are not all that expensive at any auto parts store, and come 4 to a set with one key or just one with key for an outside spare.

Yeah, I think they're Gorilla something or other...

I used to put them on, but gave up after one of them was impossible to get off during a flat tire exercise on the side of the highway. :)

What kind of rims do you have?

So, the lug 'lock' looks essentially the same as the lug nuts, then? I mean, obviously I will never change a tire, but I just want to know if I have them already. OMG, what if I do, I don't have any 'key'.

What 'kind' of rims do I have....silver ones! Ha, I don't know, do they have a name or 'look'?

Yeah their a PITA to remove sometimes plus if you misplace the key its kind of impossible to remove in a jam you have to find the same key, the key isnt a key that you carry on you it is the one with the nut looking top on it in bisjoes pic the one in the middle you just stick it in the glove box and dont lose it.

Find a friend who knows how to change a tire, and have them try the lug wrench on all the lugnuts. Most locking lugnuts are visually different than non-locking, but some are not so obvious...

haa dont worry then if you dont know what kind of rims they are you prob dont need em lol. who changes your tire when you get a flat?

I personally like the gorilla wheel locks. The wheel lock fits over/around the funky looking wheel lug. Less chance of it slipping off.

This is the kind I"m talking about.

Yes.. that style of lock. I've never had them slip off. The kind that you put the key into the end of the lock I've had slip off and I've even split one before. Never had an issue with the gorilla style ones.

AAA. I live in L.A., I cannot just hop out on the side of the freeway and change a tire!ha! Wearing a skirt, people yelling, police don't even help you.

x2 for gorilla locks.
Never had a problem with them.

Had a generic set and stripped the indentations which was a PITA to remove.

if youre looking for locks, spend the few extra dollars and buy quality.
