Just got my truck scanned today with computer and the code they got was problem with second gear synchro. Does anyone know how to remove the servo i plan on ordering new servo tommorow.

Never done one with the transmission still in the truck, but I guess you may have to remove the catalytic converter to gain access. Getting the servo out is pretty easy, you have to compress the cover, which is under spring pressure, then pull the snap ring.

Here is a photo of my homemade servo removal tool:

And here is the servo coming out, and the snap ring is visible:

That blue O-ring you see above, you should get a new one of those too, as it is often destroyed (intentionally) during removal of the cover.

The tool I made with some bolts matching the thread pitch of the pan bolt, a scrap of 1" steel tubing, and a muffler bolt cut into a "J". There are a few holes you drill in the tubing, in order to match the spacing of the pan bolts, and to position the "J". You see there are three holes for the "pan" bolts", and two holes for the "J". When you have the holes right, this tool works on both the intermediate & overdrive servos.

Hope this helps.
