What polish, cleaner, or whatever? I want that cool rainbow look.

I bet its the bulb inside the housing.

However if I as you just forget about getting the cool rainbow look and cover those lenses in 3M clear bra. Best thing I ever did for my headlights and foglights, not a scratch, chip, or broken lense since......

Yeah, correct me if I am wrong but that just looks like the reflection from the sun shining on the bulb.

I took the picture, and the sun is on the other side of the car. And they're OEM bulbs.

maybe there is a clear lens covering the headlight that makes that reflection... just a guess... prob wrong

There's probably some sort of dressing product got on there that contains silicone. I know silicone will do that to clear surfaces.

It is Polarized. Possibly your lense on the camers is as well. When I wear polarized glasses I see all kinds of reflections that you wouldn't see otherwise.

And yes I wear the glasses sober.

I'm almost certain that there is no dressing or covers or anything on that lense that makes it look like that. And it won't be the bulb either. Most plastics are made from crude oil (well it's much refined derivatives). Ever see an oil sheen on water?? Well, it makes that rainbow look as it reflects light. The plastic lenses on some cars do the same thing. The plastic is made from a hydrocarbon, most likely ethylene. The reason it is so prominent on that particular lense is because of it's clarity and curvature. It is a property of the lense material itself.

Mr. Wizard is that you?

i don't recognize those headlights, are they aftermarket?

the reason i ask is b/c i've seen aftermarket headlights (for ricers) listed in magazines with "prism" as one of the options.

410Fortune:

what exactly is 3M clear bra ?
sounds interesting.

It was a Matrix or Vibe, I think.

Your bulbs can make your headlights colored in the sun. My bulbs make the headlight blue in the center, and a prismy brown along the edges. They are called "super white frost" but are technically illegal due to the being 80/100 watt.

Ive seen that done before, and it can be done with many prouducts such as soap (left to dry over time) or an oil substance

i bet some kind of oil would make it look like that
