How do your remove the grill on a 97 xlt?

So I did a search, and I found a thread but the link was dead. Anyways, my grill is pretty faded and ugly. I tried painting just the middle of the grill black today, but got overspray on the chrome of the grill and it looks horrible!!! This is my first mod to my ex. Next is going to be black rims, and huge tires! I need help guys, my truck looks bad

Take the black plastic panel off on top (where the hood latch is)

Undo the screws that hold the side lights in place (2 each side, phillips head)

Pop the side lights off.

You can now see the screws that hold the grille in place.

Undo them and carefully pry off the grille.

thanks guys, it looks great. I pried the left signal a little to hard, and all the fasteners broke. I fixed it with a little double sided tape though.
