I had a small leak from the what I assume was the front seal of the trans. I used some stop leak and it went away. Now it's back. I'm trying some Lucas Trans fix with stop leak in it this time. I hope it works.

But if this doesn't work, I'll need to replace that front seal. How hard of a job is that?

The trans will have to be lowered--or the engine pulled to remove the torque converter. Once there, it is a snap ring, pull seal, install new seal and ring.

It is getting to it that sucks--however, I did mine myself while I swapped engines.

yea, well I'm not swapping anything. How hard is it to pull the trans?

Have you changed one before?
edit
ever pulled an auto trans?

Not on newer vehicle. I completely rebuilt a 351C in a 73 Mustang I once had and of course had the tranny rebuilt at the same time. And right now I have the head off of a 93 Geo Prizm so I can replace the rings and valve seals. Bought it a few months back with only 55,000 orig miles, but it's burning oil bad. Probably sat too long at some point.

So if your asking if I'm capable, the answer is yes. But for me, if it's a major PITA, then I may be willing to pay someone to do it.

Well, other than the fact it is heavy--and the transfer case hassle--I think you will find it easier, because there is no mechanical linkage.
Just be careful with the range sensor, and wiring---
I think there are some wire harness brackets to remove--
remove the center comsole-roll back the carpet, and you will find a removable panel on trans hump--this wii help with access.

Good luck!!
