OK, I have some ticking/pinging/clattering going on in the engine compartment. (I know, I'm one of hundred or more.) Having researched, I am planning on first retorqueing the lower intake manifold bolts since I have already cleaned the MAF and replaced the plugs. How hard is this? Is this something that is really delicate in terms of taking the engine apart? I've put lift kits and such on without to much problems but I tend to stay away from engine stuff due to a lack of experience. Also, since I have some stuff taken apart, is there anything else I should look at or do while its apart? Also, how difficult is the "Valve Clutter" maintenance tech tip described on the home page is case that is needed to fix the problem? Thanks.

Intake bolts are easy there is one by the firewall that sucks but you sound like your pretty good at turning a wrench so it should be no problem.Retorking helped mine alot but its coming back again so i am going to change the whole gasket in a couple of weeks:D

I'm not so much worried about the bolts themselves. I am concerned about having to take about the uppper and lower intake manifold. My engine experience is limited.

Try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor. Its on the top of your engine, near the front, under your throttle body. I had mine changed and the pinging quit cold turkey.
