My truck has a really bad painjob...and it has rusted so bad to the point where there is holes by my weather strips in the door by the bottom of the truck.

It is a 91' Explorer and I would like to get it repainted and have all of the rust fixed, patched or what not.

Does anyone know a good company that can do this, and abouts how much it would cost me?

I have about 2 holes to patch and i few rust spots around the wheel wells.

Thanks for your help bras!

Mike,
About where to go, that is a bit tricky. Even the national "paint shop" chains are franchised, so they will vary from shop to shop. The best advice is to ask around. Ask anyone and everyone you know if they have had good, or bad, experiences with body shops. If you have the time, it may also be better to do as much prep work as you are capable of doing on your own. The prep work is the hard work and where a lot of the cost comes in. I have known people to do all the prep themselves (removed trim, stripping, lights, etc.), bondo'd, and sanded themselves. Then they had the cars towed (b/c no lights) to the cheapest paint shop in town and ended up with descent paint jobs. Usually what seperates a good shop from a bad shop is in the prep work.

What you really need to do if you want a good repaint is to make sure that your shop is I-CAR certified. Either silver of gold level. Otherwise, forget it.

peace

Mike
