I have had the P0171 and P0174 codes popping up lately and I have tried a few things that have yet to work. So far I have tried cleaning the IAC valve, which did not make the codes go away for good, I tried cleaning the MAF sensor, which also didn't make them go away. Today I tried replacing the IAC valve because I was getting a howling noise coming from the engine so, I am hoping that fixes the howling and also makes the codes go away. I might try replacing the fuel filter next before taking it in. Through my searches I have determined that if that doesn't work it looks like the next step would be the intake manifold gaskets. How much can I expect to have it cost me the have this done at a mechanic? Anyone able to help me out? Thanks in advance.

Good work.
Did the howling go away?

Since both banks are resulting in a lean condition your leak is behind the MAS sensor somewhere in the intake system, Since you have cleaned the MAS and the IAC, and I suspect checked everywhere for leaks, I suspect your intake O rings

IMO If you can change the fuel filter you can change the O rings

I just replaced the IAC yesterday and have yet to get have it howl again. The engine is still idleing kind rought though, so I think the the o rings still need to be replaced. The fuel filter was the next thing on my list to do, but I haven't done it yet. I definately think the O rings arent something I want to tackle myself. Anyone have this done at a mechanic? If so, what did it run?
