This is my buddy torching the roof off his old Toyota for me.

I asked if I could have the roof of a truck he was scrapping. I wanted the spare sheet metal. He broke out the torch and this happened:

Turns out you should remove the headliner BEFORE you fire up the torch...
Funny part? He just got a bucket of water for the flaming pieces that fell & kept going.
Funnier part? The flaming pieces kept falling into the cab that he hadn't cleaned out and started catching other things on fire (tow straps, etc).
Funniest part? His brother standing there with a fire extinguisher and him (the torcher) freaking out because if they used it their dad would know...Ah, youth :)

So the truck is on fire inside of a garage. There is a chance that it could ignite the gas in the tank, and cause an explosion. Somebody says "hey, this is a Kodak moment. Get the camera out before it extinguishes". With a kidding aside, was everybody okay?

Looks like there's just a cab there, no frame/tank/etc.

Think Dad might notice it smells like the shop has been on fire, or notice it's a pile of ashes?

That's a "hey ya'll watch this" moment !

It was indeed just the cab. I'd just helped them remove most of the frame from behind it so it was just cab on a frame. No one was injured but we were slightly amazed at how adamant he was about not letting the fire extinguisher be used.

That is definitely a "hey y'all watch this" moment. I thought the same thing about the smell but he turned on the big industrial exhaust fan and opened all the garage doors...He must've got rid of the smell because I don't think his dad ever said anything lol. I know once the fire was out I took off outside for awhile; the smell was terrible.

This is one of those waaay more funny after the fact kind of things.

Well my friend caught his solvent tank on fire last night. It's full of gas and th switch has open wiring. I told him not five minutes before that that's stupid! Lol. Everything was okay, just slammed the lid shut and it went out, still pumping solvent too! Lol

havent you learned that since the advent of the intetrwebs the mentality is grab camera, then deal with problem

we all do it
