I just have a single 8" sub with a decent amp and HU and it puts out enough bass for me. The box takes up about a cubic foot of space.

Someone posted a few days ago an inexpensive thing that produces bass sensation with vibrations.

ya i read about that thread. but i donno if those things make a bass sound or justs vibrates.

An old pic of my sub, but I still have a similar setup. The amp is elsewhere in the vehicle:

wow that ant to bad

Do you have the compartment on the right rear side? They make a powered and unpowered woofer for in there. I think I also saw where guys were making their own mounts and putting a woofer in.

If you were to put component speakers in your doors, you would have the woofer and tweeter separate. I had those in a Ranger and they sounded great...and they were no-name speakers, too.

will i have to run a seperate wire to the woofers if i dont connect them to the cross over.

how about an infinity basslink subwoofer? its already powered, sure it cost some $$, but if you're looking to save space and get good bass those things rock pretty hard

If you have an aftermarket headunit with subwoofer out you'll want to run RCAs to the sub's amp, then wire straight to the sub. If you don't have sub RCA out, then the best thing to do is tap off the stock rear speaker wiring that's underneath the passenger kickpanel and run those splices line-in to the sub's amp. If going this route you need to make sure the amp has line-level inputs.

well i have 3 sets of rca jacks. im using 2 of them for a 4 channel amp for the speakers but i just dont no wat speakers to get with alot of bass.

Alec, I love those Lexus bags! :D They go great with the air compressor and everything. i should velcro gucci bags to the backs of my rear seats :p seriously, it looks like a good idea to keep tow straps and first aid equipment, etc in.

I am not the person to ask about stereos...I hook everything up the way I think it goes and it works!;)

I would think that if you don't want to add subs, then components are the way to go. I'm thinking of going that route myself.

I think your best bet is to buy the best quality 8" woofer with the best quality amp to power it and have a shop tweek it.

I don't know which are the best out there right now but I heard bad things about Sony, MTX, and, ofcourse, stay away from no-name brands.

My 8" is a Boston Acoustic powered by a 160W RF amp. Sounds great to me!

aight thanks everyone

Look into kick panels. You can get some nice 6.5 components that put out good midbass. At least then you woundln't have to worry about the back compartment being cluttered. Plus, they make the front stage sound amazing. If you can afford it, that's what I would definately do in your situation.

i had the MTX stealthbox (board memeber now has it) and I liked it. It just wasnt enough after about a year. Now I have 2 12s and 500watts....dont get bit, it never lets go till ya give in!

you could also consider a box like this:

easy to lock to the floor, you can pile stuff on it/against it and not worry about hurting your subs. Also if someone did try to snatch it and its locked down, slashing your cones would be pretty difficult (though not impossible)
