has the ac been converted to r-143a

You can jumper the high pressure switch, at which point the clutch should engage. If it does engage, then your problem is probably that it's low on freon, and it needs a charge. As the previous poster indicated, you need to determine if it's R12 or R134a. If it's R12, consider converting it to the 134a.

it was converted in june of 2000

were is the high puressere switch is locatied

on the accumulator ... near the firewall on the pass side.

how to make jumper

:exporange i need to make a jumper wire how to make a jumper wire :exporange

ummm a peice of wire. or check it with a multimeter. close circuit = good on the low pressure switch, open circuit = low charge (remove plug and test on the accumulator)

or check for 12volts in and out of the plug. also with a multimeter

I have a piece of 14 gauge stranded (with insulation on it of course) wire about 8 feet long to which I added alligator clips on each end. I keep it coiled up in my tool box for those occasions when I need to jumper things. (Actually I have 2.)
