hubs are still not working.

hi i posted here awhile back about my hubs not kicking in. i cleaned the hubs out and filled them with atf fluid and drained it out, still it doesnt want to kick in i took it to some soft sand down the road drove it around with the 4x4 on and still nothing. it was working before i left wa but it sat for 6 months. any ideas?

Is the front drive shaft turning? That's where I'd start. Could block all the tires and see what's going on.

If the transfer case is clicking it in gear, I would get the manual hubs, much more dependable.

Yep manuals are the way to go. My autos left me high and dry stuck in the UP of Michigan last winter. They work when you need them the least but no way will they work when you need em. New manual hubs is what im going to do after i put the new engine in my X.
