iI need to replace my automatic hubs on my 94 Explorer w/manual ones. The local NAPA wants $291.00 For WARN hubs and the nut kit. I'm new to this and I was wondering if you guys could give me some insight on some good 4x4 sites. After I replace the hubs I'm gonna put a 3" body lift and then a 4" suspension after that.

Also get the nuts at 4wheelparts, just ask for Dana44 spindle nuts, same thing, they're $11 a side instead of $50 for both that WARN charges.

Mile Marker is not even close to Warn in quality.

junkyard stock hubs, all i will ever run. you can even make dana28 hubs fit if ya really wanted

If you want the best and strongest hubs - do not get the ones for the explorer. Warn makes a set for the rear of a jeep (yes rear) do a search on here and you'll find the part number. They are the strongest out there, and they have a lifetime warranty.

...That info can also be found in the link of post #4, of this thread...;)

Exactly! I've seen tons of blown up MMs. Not so many Warns and factory models.

Both of my kiddos work in off-road shops, so we've seen more than most folks.

I have a pair of factory lock out hubs for sale -- first $50 plus shipping gets them.

...I'll take them hubs if no one else has spoken for them and they are in good working order...:D

it isnt that bad. not alot of parts inside hubs. used to be a guy showing how to do it in a video on youtube i think
Yeah Totalled had a video on youtube, it's gone now for some reason. Basically D35 hub guts fit right into the the D28 hub body,
Depends how hard you are going to wheel. I had mile marker and never had any problems. Mostly mud for me though.
No it doesn't, quality is quality, and Warn has MM beat by a long shot, only reason I put MM on my explorer is because it will see light 4x4 use occasionally.

Here are pics of the hubs for sale.

They need to be cleaned and painted, but are mechanically sound and work. I would have cleaned them, but I can't work in my workshop right now.

These were my backup set that I carried on the trails in case I blew one.

And, sorry, they do not have the conversion nuts. Those can be orderd for low $$$ from Napa. Here's the part number:

The ones for a Dana 44 from a Bronco are a direct fit to the Dana 35 spindles in Explorers.

Right now, tbars4 has first chance at the hubs, followed by dllb if tbars4 doesn't want them.

PM me with zip code for shipping information and I'll calculate shipping costs (no padding costs -- you pay what I pay).

Those look like D28 hubs.
