Wow a ton of great info on this site.
I have a 95 explorer v6 4wheel drive. I have a humming noise and a vibration coming from the driver side front. First thought was the wheel bearing however I'm not convinced yet. The vehicle originally would only make the humming sound at 35mph plus. Now after a week of driving it does it from 15mph and up. If I make a left turn the sound goes away. Left Hub assembly I would think. I changed the hub assembly tonight and still have the sound. The only noticeable difference is the steering feels tighter. The CV joint and all other suspension/steering parts appear to be good. Nothing loose or any visible wear. I know its not a tire since i also put my summer tires on tonight. Is it possible the hub assembly i just put on could be bad or am i missing something else? Anyone have some suggestions?
