I have 3rd row seats and I was trying to change the light bulb above my 3rd row seat/cargo. I got the blown bulb out and put the new one in. As it touched the light bulb came on. I turned the switch off and used a screwdriver to push the bulb completely in the socket. I dont know what I was thinking.... As I did this, I accidentally touched the side of the socket and saw a spark. Now this light wont come on. The bulb is okay, as I checked it in another socket. I checked the fuses listed in the manual, but those seem to be fine. Any idea what I can do?

To add to my problems, the lights in my front visors do not work either. Also, in the 2nd row, there are 3 bulbs overhead. The 2 that have a manual swich work, but the 3rd that is supposed to come on when the door is open, does not work. I have checked almost all fuses, didn't find anything. I went online and ordered the wiring diagram, but I don't know how to read it. I called several dealers, but they all said to bring it in. I really don't want to pay $95 for them to check it, unless I really have to. Anybody??

Replace the light fuse anyway, as mentioned they can sometimes be bad, and still look good.

I looked in the owner's manual, searched on this site, online and called the dealer. I don't know exactly which fuse number it is for the cargo area.

check your under the hood fuses too, you never know

just get yourself a LED fuse tester from an auto store and check ALL of the fused (wont take but 5 minutes). this is a blown fuse bud. there are only two fuse pannels, the one inside under the dash drivers side, and the drivers side one in the black box in the engine bay.

The fuse location diagrams in owners manuals can be wrong to so just follow the advice from zero. I had a engine issue on my 96 Windstar that was from a blown fuse that according to owners manual was for lights but was actually the keep alive circuit for the ECU.
