ok my 99 i tightend the bolt almost all the way in on the pass side, and only half way on the driver side, truck sits level 34 1/4 ground to fender i think give or take.... now when i jack the truck up it lifts almost 1 1/2in more before the tires come offf the ground, how can i get that lil more lift outta her, if i pull the torsion bar outta the key and rotate it on knotch will that stiffen it up and lift it more??? i see they make reclocked torsion bar keys for chevy's isnt my idel pretty much the same? DID A SEARCH didnt find a direst answer thanks mike

You want a little down travel in the suspension. I wouldn't want to crank the bars any farther, just think about if you hit a pothole in the road, if your suspension doesn't have that extra travel, your whole truck will fall into the hole and not just the tire. It'll ride like you have no front suspension.

However, I think i have seen someone post up new keys that will work, or you can find a longer bolt to replace the other torsion adjester bolt, however i would not reccomend doing this. You front end will wear much faster, and your ride will be horrible.

Don't you want at least some ride quality? Or do you want a broken ass?

it rides like **** now dont know y but.... longer bolts? i think my keys are all the way up....

it rides bad because the suspension is super stiff, u have AWD correct, so there is an axle up front? you probly shouldnt go more than two inches on the TT otherwise your cv angle is no good

^^ actually you can crank up a 4wd more then 2inches without sending the cv's to the grave but you need longer bolts....but remember evrey inch is an inch of lost down travel and the ride is awfual.

longer bolts what kind(thread etc etc) i could care less about the cv shafts i just replaced both them and have a life time gar. on them

in your sig, it shows ur getting 32's and a body lift. i have a 2"bl and 33's. my torsion bars only gave me 1.75-2" max and my 33's fit fine. with 32's and maxed out t-bars and bl, you are going to have lots of exposed innerfender area, especially with a 3" bl.

for 32's, i'd recomend a 2" bl and leaving ur t-bars how they are. but thats just my opinion/advice.

do you plan to take this thing off road? or is it just for show?

i wheel it every weekend as it sites now.. im tryin to be different. i like standing out, i was the first to have a throaty dual exhaust on an explorer now within 2 years iv seen 2 other posers lol 32's may get changed to 33's i just dont wanna over power my gears, the truck has pleanty of power to throw mud with the 30's and even my 31's i had..

well if all you do is like mud bog, and simple trails. then maxing out ur t-bars is alright i guess. but i know on more technical trails the stiff front suspension makes things tippy when you start gettin off camber. some down travel is nice to have. i know what you mean about different tho. i havent seen another truck like mine in person. there are a few on this board with the same kind of setup that live pretty close, but i have never met them.

all i'm saying is i wouldnt worry about maxing out ur t-bars. the 32's or 33's will fit just fine and you wont lose all of your suspension travel. you also have to think when you max the t-bar, you are making the spring rate stiffer, so it is harder for the truck to have up travel too.

i had 33's with my 3.55 gears for a while and it drove fine, i noticed the loss in power off the line, but the mileage was still alright, especially on the highway. with my 4.56 gears my mileage completely sucks, but in 4-lo i can pretty much idle through trails and only have to tap the gas to get over obstacles. you might want to look into a t-case swap, since i've heard the awd case will burn up with constant offroad abuse. ur tranny too, since you dont have a low range, the tranny works the torque converter harder or sumthin along those lines...
