Well people, I was at a club last night, and when I came out, guess what, they broke my rear quarter window and jacked me for my subwoofers, box and my cap. I already ordered a new cap, but now I'm looking for recommendations on speakers. Heres the deal:

They will go in my LARGE vented box (from speakerhole.com) and they will get pushed by my RF 800.2 (980 watts RMS). The speakers that were stolen were RF Punch HX2s (RFD2212), so should I get those again or are there better speaker deals to be had?

I paid $250.00 for those 2 speakers so I'm looking in the same range. I'm open for suggestions from ALL!

Thanks....

I run 2 DEI Comp 10's off an 800a2 and they absolutely slam. I think the 12 inch version takes about a 1.2 ft^3 vented box, can't remember the port size or length though. They are an excellent sub. Some of my other favorites are Alumapros and Image Dynamics.

man sideswipe...that suckS!!!!!! do a jl 8 in a custom rear panel box...then theyll never know you have a sub...and it will probably sound good too....

thats horrible. someone would have died if that had been me. but you do get a chance to rebuild (improve) your system. i say go with 2 10s, my next rebuild will be two punch power 500 by 2s and two 10s (don't know what kind yet, audiobahn or jl maybe) i really love the way a couple of high powered tens sound.

btw i used to have almost your exact system, but with two of the 500s instead of the 800. it hit extremely hard. but i had a total of 6 cubic feet of air behind them and they hit really low (like 3-6 mafia or no limit type bass only) so i sold them and will be doing the 10s thing in the future.

that really sucks. if you like the HX2s, then just get them again. Memphis subs are powerful and sound great. also check out MMATS PRO. some people like Kove subs, but they aren't know for their SQ.

is your insurance paying for the subs?

That sucks, I am really sorry to hear about that. Check out thezeb.com , they are having a crazy clearance on Audiobahn subs.

ChuckyD - I know what you are sayin about living in Ny (lol)

How much are all of those subs y'all are talking about and where do I get them. Does thezeb.com carry them all? I'm trying to find out if I can find better subs for around the same price, but they have to be 12s cuz thats what the box holds. Thanks.

leenjen- i didnt insure the subs... =(

Hmm, looks like your next box should have every edge lined with razor blades, sure they'll break your window, but when they grab a hold and pull you'll be the last one laughing. Lets think of some other good NYC booby traps, like a mase trigger when the box is pulled, etc.

Check out www.mmxpress.com for the subs I listed... The actually have the DEI subs on special, 110 per DVC 12, gotta buy the pair; thats a DAMN good price on that sub. Now that I look, they also have the IDQ 12's on sale for 129 each.

new york sucks

yea, I had a stereo ripped outta my old car, I was so pissed, sorry man, and after that I decided to make sure my new cars had good stock systems. Not worth loosing $500 going out at night. :(

That Sucks!

I had an Eclipse H.U. ripped off from my old Bronco. I will never use a H.U. w/o a removable face from now on.

As far as the subs go, check out JL Audio. It's hard to find them on line, however their dealers generally give good deals. 12" subs will run you any where from $90 on up depending on the model and features. Also, the Image Dynamics 12" IDQ DVC is a great sub, and at MMX's price, they will be hard to beat.

Although you may find subs that will out SPL these, they both do hit hard, and the SQ is better than most. Both will be hard to beat for the price.

sideswipe-sorry to hear that!

I'm just going off of my own experience with my subs, and MTX prolly isnt too highly regarded with the guys who have the real expensive stuff, but the Thunder 8000 that I have, I think its very impressive. We had it running off a Kicker IX702 amp, in a box that I made, and that thing can beat it UP. It sounds nice outside, and it sounds good on the inside. I know theres other subs out there in the same price range with beter SQ. The SPL is really nice. Its about $250 for a 12", but you can get some really nice prices off buyloud.com, but I dont know how good it is, some of the prices are a little hard to believe :) But if you want to pay $250 range, the 6000's are a nice bang for the buck, $280 from Crutch, but your amp would be too powerful for them. I like all my MTX subs :)

Since he mentioned MTX i might as well chime in... I have a Kicker XPL in the Kicker Substation... I love it! It pounds very very well! I recomend them to everyone!
Im sure 2 XPL 12's would sound Great!

These are some specs i pulled off of crutchfield
polymineral cone
foam surround
frequency response 23-500 Hz
power range 100-500 watts RMS
peak power handling 1,000 watts
sensitivity 88.5 dB SPL
top-mount depth 5-3/8"
sealed box volume 1.0-1.5 cubic feet

Im sure there are other subs that are better, but i think they are stopping them so im sure you find them for a great price!

Thanks EVERYONE for your help, condolences and suggestions. Keep em coming!

Dude, that blows. Insure them next time. They won't charge more than $10-30 to insure a system up to $3000.

That sucks man. My sisters Cavalier was broken into on New years eve and the headunit was stolen, but they stupidly left other stuff in the car.
They were so dumb they left a discman in there along with credit cards, one of those portable frs radios among other stuff.
The scary part was my sisters Explorer with a cd player also was parked next to it, but they did not touch it. Lucky her!
