Well I finally got one!

I had planned to make the hour trip out of town tomorrow to see a dealer about a sport trac with like 119xxx and some interior issues and I got a call from a dealer here in my town that had one with 83xxx 2wd for only $1900 more.

we went and took a look at it, The interior was immaculate, Drove very smooth. Had a locking tonneau cover and they actually had the keys for it. Had the fold out rack thing they come with (the other didn't have it). They had the passcode for the door number pad as well, The other one didn't

I told him chances are he couldn't finance me and the other place was trying to get the payment under $350 which was my max but having problems doing so. My dad said he was going to cosign for me since he shows permanent income. My dad is a vietnam vet/purple heart/100% va disability blah blah blah. And because of this they lowered the payment $78 of what it was going to be originally, making the payment $240 a month. I couldn't pass that up!

So here she is

Any special plans for it?

well for starters..

5% tint
getting tail lights blacked out
Wet okole seat covers
KC HiLites back up lights
considering black housing headlights

Big 3 Upgrade
get my amp / stereo / subs installed
get CB installed
get radar detector hot wired in
ipad dock

Shackle / TT lift
33" (thinking Grabber AT2's)
Pro Comp 152's or 7047's
would like to do a body lift when I get some more prices/install info

Dual exhaust (no idea which one yet)

HID's

Nice thing about this truck is there are some things I was able to scratch off my need to buy list, Like a trailer hitch since it already has one.

My list will take time but I've never owned a single vehicle that I have kept stock, I can't stand not working on them

welcome to the fam! you are going to love that trac, especially if you are an active person. i play in a city b-ball league, a competitive softball league, i ride and race mountain bikes, ride bmx bikes, skateboard, hike, camp, fish, snowboard, go wheelin, and constantly help my friends move, and my trac has been able to handle everything ive thrown at it with ease. any plans for it?

the axle code indicates that this truck has the 3.73 conventional differential, so I might wait on the 33's until I have the money to regear. Maybe 31's will suffice for now

Nice, are you gonna lock it too?
And do you know what you're gonna use to tint your lights?
Let me know if you'll need help with anything, I can always try and assist :)

I'm not sure yet, I've been considering it though.

I'm not sure if I want to spray night shade it or just have eclipse tinting throw some window tint on them. It would cost more to have film tint put on them but then I could always take it off later if I wanted.

True, if you're not sure if you'll be satisfied with the tint go with the film. I had to use denatured alcohol to strip a crappy spray tint job off one of my corners, and that is no fun at all.

being that youre 2WD, if you ever plan on going off road, lockers should def be in your plans at some point. while 3.73's aren exactly optimal for 33" tires, its not the worst thing in the world. there are plenty of members out there running that setup. our jeep jk has 32"s with 3.73 gearing. congrats again, lmk if you ever have any questions and ill be happy to help if i have the answer, if not, ill refer you to a couple of the sport trac yodas we have here on the forum.

Nice!! That's quite the list of plans you've got, but I dig it! Should keep you busy for a while lol. As always, look around on this site for information - you'll find loads and loads of it.

Congrats and welcome to the club!

thanks guys!

I got my radar detector hot wired in today. Thankfully this has the itty bitty fuses so I didn't have to buy another fuse connector since I already had one for the small fuses.

I made an appointment for tomorrow to get the windows tinted

considering plasti'dipping the stock wheels for the time being. I checked the spare up under it. It's brand new and still shiny.

I need to figure out where the heck I am going to hide my amplifier wire. I really don't want to pull panels

pulling the door jamb panels is pretty easy and a great place to run wires. i pulled mine to hide my cb antenna. you wont even need any tools to do it, then snap right off. search for a write u i did on a "cobra cb radio install". it has pictures for reference if you need it.

I went out there with my old man and found the grommet under the dash on drivers side, Punctured it a little and ran the 4gauge power wire through it, Slid it under the plastics along the floor board

Now all I need is to wait for my stereo kit/harness to get here and I can get everything hooked up

did some work

got some more stuff done,

after I ran the amp cable I pulled off the window cowl off the back window.

wasn't a fan of it. Then I got the emblems off. Still have a little goop to remove but I'll wait until its hot so it will be easier

This is how she sits today

This is the current goal, Still undecided about the headlights

Good job with the photoshop! I like the black out light look with all the other tint and black. You've probably seen them but here's how they look

http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-02-03-04-05-FORD-EXPLORER-SPORT-TRAC-HEADLIGHTS-CORNER-TAIL-LIGHTS-BLACK-/140723626872?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item20c3c82378

thanks man for the link, I have seen those headlights but not the tail lights or the combo package.

I wanted to tint the tail lights where the back up light is not tinted. Not sure I could be that creative though
