Greetings......I am the proud owner of a 1996 Ford Explorer and a 1999 Ford F-150... I am what you call a loyal owner of the Ford family. However, I have been having problems with them both! Can someone tell me how to fix a coolant leak? I just bought a new heater valve because the other one was broken, but the coolant is now leaking from valve? was there some sort of sealant i was suppose to use? I would appreciate all advice i can get at this point.:exp:

Hi Rick...Im new to this site and just trying to find my way around. How can i find advice to a specific problem? I just replaced a broken heating valve because the anti freeze kept leaking out, now it's leaking even more, right trough the brand new heating valve i just bought. Any help you can give would be appreciated!

Welcome to this forum! I've moved both of your posts into their own thread in the new members section. Which vehicle has a coolat leak? I'll move the thread into the appropriate section when I know which one is leaking.

Hi - a possible $2 fix for you - I bought a '93 explorer 7 years ago - when I took it to the Ford Service guys, they told me that these old explorers go 300,000 plus.... and at the time said I needed a new radiator ($1200 + labor)..... I went to a garage near home - the guy dropped some pellets in the radiator - the radiator leak stopped.

Now, 7 years later, I just did it again & it stopped the leak - u can find the pellets in any auto parts store - use all 6 of them - crunch them up to dust & then pour the dust into radiator.
