I just bought a 1995 Eddie Bauer, and I have questions.

Back seat won't go down.

Funny thing (not so funny I guess). I went to pull down my back seat (passenger side widest one) and it wouldn't go down. I notice a nut between the smaller driver side rear seat and the passenger side, was loose so I tightened it. Still it won't go down. There's nothing under the seat blocking it. Yes, I pushed the seat levers, but nothing worked. The smaller drivers side does go down. It seems like the it's stuck between the passengers seat and drivers side seat..in that lower area where it's attached to the body. I'm thinking about taking the whole seat out and examining. Has anyone had this problem?

The climate control display is a replaceable part but it may be cheaper to pull the control from a junkyard or get it from e-bay. If you have to do some parts swapping, the florescent display is just plugged into a socket and the back-light bulbs can be accessed after you pull the control ass'y out, it's behind the bezel.

Taking this into consideration. I can't charge my AC system.

#1 The AC is running cool but not cold on my 1995 Eddie Bauer Explorer 4.0. Certainly not cold enough for the summer months in So. Calif.
#2. I tried putting R 134 on the low side. I have the AC and fans turned up when charging, but the compressor keeps short cycling.. I disconnected the relay and bridged a wire, so the compressor would run without short cycling. It didn't short cycle, but it still didn't let any freon in.
#3 The AC in my Eddie Bauer is the climate control fancy one (I liked my old XLT AC controls better - much simpler). The digital numbers are not luminous mentioned in the above post, so I can't tell what the temperature is.
#4 The fan blows fine.

Maybe there's some trick to charging this system. If so, please let me know. Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I thank you for your time.

I know I'm jamming this thread with posts, but I'm trying to get rid of the kinks that came with my Explorer. I have one more problem I need to resolve (besides the AC not taking a charge) and that is my idle is surging. It goes from 500 rpm's to a surge of about 900 rpms and then drops down again to 500 rpms. I'm thinking I might have an air leak or maybe I need to clean out the ICV. Thanks again.

All done. Got it all done. Cleaned out the throttle and ICV. New spark plugs; plug wires; fuel filter; tranny & diff. fluid. CD changer and sub speaker thanks to JOEY D. I've got ice cold air and I'm set for the summer.
