i need help

i just got a 98 ford explorer 4x4 it all works good drives well and im happy but there is a problem the windows wont go down the 4x4 switch dosent work along with the wipers today it started working fine the windows went down the 4x4 switch worked and so did the wipers then i went to store when i got back in to the truck and turned it on they stoped working i all ready checked all the fuses and there all good what do i do help or should i just take it to the dealer please help me

I'd check for a broken or damaged wire in the door boot. Alot of multiple electrical issues can be traced back to that. Also try a search (top of the page) on the problem's you're having to see how other's may have solved the issue's you're facing. Hope this help's.

If you know your way around the dash, perhaps you should stick your head under and start jiggling some wires. All of your systems are routed through the major wiring harness and you could have a couple of pinched wires that are causing your intermittent problems. I'd give that a shot first before taking it to the dealer. Should take you all of about 10-15 mins.

i allready tried jigging wires under dash dosent work the windows work on and off so i guess ill try the gem i question if replace the gem do i have to get it programed or do i just use any gem

It needs to match (part number on the gem) the gem for your truck. Similar options...

You can add a personal code, but the factory code is permanent.

On page 65 of your owners manual, or Dead Link Removed if you do not have one...
